Hi Everyone,
We just wanted to give everyone a little update. We will be going in for the c-section tomorrow. It is scheduled for 12:45. After Madeline is born, she will be taken to the NICU to be examined by a neonatologist for any other issues. If the omphalocele is the only problem (which it has been on all of the ultrasounds) then they will schedule her surgery for that day or the next day.
From there it will be a matter of how well she is breathing on her own, and how well she is feeding and making bowel movements. Those things will determine when she will come home. The doctors are estimating 4-6 weeks, but we are praying for a MUCH quicker recovery.
Of course we will keep everyone updated with the emails & through our carepage & blog.
If you can, please pray for the following:
1. That the omphalocele is the only problem and there will be no other issues.
2. That God would give the doctors and surgeons wisdom and skill and that the surgery will be fairly simple and quick.
3. That Madeline would be strong and have a speedy recovery.
4. That Madeline would be a champion eater...... & pooper too!!! :)
We want everyone to know how much we appreciate all of the love and support that you have given to us in the past 21 weeks. There are no words to explain to you how it has encouraged us. God has already worked a miracle in our baby girl and we cannot wait to see all that He will do!
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake, I am still with you.
